Friendship Flowers

I am a perennial friend, a peony opening and closing with the seasons,

Awakening in the spring in a creative spurt,

Oh the joy of being in blossom and dancing in the sun!

Spending all my petals and falling dormant until we meet again.

My annual friends are colourful poppies in every shape and hue.

Trying to hide their true feelings only to open and reveal themselves unaware.

Always spreading their seeds of love and good intentions in the wind, and

Blending together to create a unified field of wonderous harmony.

To be an evergreen friend always steadfast and loyal,

Everlasting and growing wiser with every year,

Their rings of life show evidence of every moment cherished,

Spreading and weaving their roots of legacy to create a forest of love and community.

Friends are flowers of every shape, size and smell, and their beauty is available to us in every season.

Remembering and cherishing our flowers is a gift that has been given.

I am honoured by these gifts.
